Iran Launches Missile Attack on Israel as Tensions Rise
On June 7, 2026, Iran initiated missile strikes against Israel, marking the first assault since the ceasefire took effect in early April. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that a missile was launched from Iran targeting Israeli territory.
“The IDF has confirmed a missile launched from Iran towards Israel. Defense systems are activated to thwart the threat,” stated an IDF representative, who also mentioned that air raid sirens were activated in multiple regions across the country.
Earlier that same day, the IDF disclosed that it had targeted a Hezbollah command center in Lebanon, which they claimed was being used to conduct attacks against both Israeli civilians and military personnel.
“The targeted command center was utilized by Hezbollah terrorists to execute terrorist operations against Israeli civilians and IDF soldiers operating in southern Lebanon,” the military noted.
During an interview, President Trump commented on the situation, suggesting that the missile attack would complicate any ongoing negotiations with Iran. “We just fired a missile at it, that’s enough. Come back to the table and make a deal,” he reportedly remarked.
The IDF later stated that the immediate threat had subsided, and civilians were allowed to leave secure areas. Moreover, Trump indicated he would reach out to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, advising him against retaliating for the missile attack. “I’m going to call Bibi right now and tell her not to retaliate. They were having fun. There was an attack on Israel, there was an attack on Iran, and we don’t need another attack,” Trump said regarding the intercepted missile.
