wedding of the century. There’s buzz surrounding Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and singer Taylor Swift, with speculation on when and where their wedding will occur. It’s probable that the ceremony will be planned before the start of the 2026 NFL season to avoid any conflicts with the Chiefs’ timeline.
Kelce, nearing 37, is eager to rebound from a somewhat lackluster previous season. His yards per catch improved slightly from 2024 to 2025, but he recorded only 76 receptions—the lowest since his first full season as a starter in Kansas City back in 2015.
Recently, Patrick Mahomes made headlines by becoming the NFL’s highest-paid quarterback, signing an impressive contract extension worth $504.75 million with the Chiefs.
Kelce’s catch rate dipped below his career average, and he only managed 46 receptions resulting in first downs, marking another low since 2015. Considering these stats, and with his wedding to one of the world’s biggest stars approaching, it seems reasonable that his mind might be elsewhere.
Chiefs head coach Andy Reid addressed these matters during a recent press conference, even jokingly commenting about the wedding and whether he would attend.
“I can’t talk about it, I can’t talk about it,” Reid joked with reporters. He noted, “[Kelce] was here most of the offseason, if not the entire offseason. He made the mandatory camp and performed well, so it’s great to have him back and engaged. He’s really excited.”
Reid added that Kelce might be able to focus on football since Swift is likely managing most of the wedding plans.
“There are no distractions from the wedding. If it’s anything like my wedding, my wife did everything. I just followed her lead,” he shared. Though, he acknowledged that Kelce might be more involved in the planning. Overall, though, he appears to be concentrating on his work.
As the Chiefs gear up for training camp in late July, with preseason games on the horizon, they will be facing off against the Los Angeles Rams at home on August 15th, followed by a significant matchup against the Denver Broncos on September 14th. By then, it’s likely that Kelce will have tied the knot, though the discussions about the wedding are unlikely to fade anytime soon.
