New intelligence report exposes surprising facts about allegations of US-supported Ukrainian biolabs

U.S. Biolabs Under Scrutiny

After facing years of criticism, those who previously raised alarms about a concealed biolab seem to have had their concerns validated.

Recently, Tulsi Gabbard, the Director of National Intelligence, made headlines by announcing new insights into over “120 biolabs in more than 30 countries, including Ukraine,” which are backed by U.S. funding.

It’s notable that these four specific laboratories have cost American taxpayers upwards of $9.25 million in total.

Previously, Gabbard has advocated for diligent probes into these foreign labs. Over the last four years, she faced backlash, even being labeled a “traitor” by figures like Mitt Romney, who accused her of echoing disinformation.

Currently positioned to act on the matter, Gabbard is unveiling previously undisclosed evidence concerning U.S.-funded biolabs, primarily situated in Ukraine and now “at risk due to the ongoing conflict,” as she outlined.

“Many of these U.S. government-supported biolabs have been involved in research with hazardous pathogens, including dangerous gain-of-function studies,” Gabbard pointed out, noting the minimal oversight around such activities.

She went on to name some of the key players behind what she described as a “cover-up,” underlining the government’s commitment to revealing details about these secretive labs. “Despite considerable evidence showing that research with dangerous pathogens could lead to catastrophic outcomes, various politicians, so-called health experts, and even members of the Biden administration have consistently misled the public about the existence of these labs,” she claimed. “They didn’t just lie; they threatened those who sought the truth.”

Gabbard also referenced a release found here that indicates the locations of “over 40 established and supported laboratories” in Ukraine, some categorized as biosafety level 3 for human research, alongside “unknown” labs marked as biological weapons storage. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention states that biosafety level 3 facilities deal with microorganisms that could cause severe illness.

The document from ODNI highlights the potential presence of hazardous pathogens, including but not limited to anthrax and Ebola, in these labs.

Of particular importance is a section in the ODNI release that details four biolabs funded by the American government.

  • Kherson Diagnostic Laboratory: $1,728,822
  • Institute of Veterinary Medicine: $2,109,375.23
  • Central Reference Laboratory of the Institute of Epidemic Research: $3,492,551
  • Zakarpatska Diagnostic Institute: $1,920,432

Altogether, these facilities have soaked up over $9.25 million of taxpayer money.

This recent information release stems from Executive Order 14292, endorsed by President Trump. The order mandates a pause on federally funded biological research in foreign nations without adequate oversight.

Gabbard has instructed the intelligence community to investigate these biolabs more thoroughly, claiming that they are already “uncovering new information about clinical trials happening there that raise significant ethical and security concerns regarding public health efforts and U.S. national security.”
