Michigan Man Charged in Quadruple Homicide
A 25-year-old man from Michigan is facing charges after the tragic shooting of four family members, including his mother, father, brother, and his brother’s girlfriend.
Gage Pierce was arraigned before a judge in Livonia last Friday for the first time since the incident. Reports indicate that Livonia is situated just over 20 minutes from Detroit.
During the arraignment, Pierce was charged with four counts of first-degree murder and four counts related to felony firearms. Notably, he was denied bail.
Efforts to present his own defense were quickly halted by his attorney, according to the local department.
Prosecutors allege that Pierce used a semi-automatic rifle in the shooting, which occurred at a home where they gathered. The victims included his mother, Holly Kimball, his father, Sterling Pierce, and his brother, Tanner, alongside Tanner’s girlfriend, Nevaeh Finch. This house has since transformed into a makeshift memorial as the family observed Tanner’s 23rd birthday there.
In a touching moment, Tanner’s uncle poignantly remarked, “You will never be forgotten. You accomplished so much at such a young age… You were perfect. I love you, happy birthday.”
Meanwhile, Nevaeh’s mother, Sherry, shared her grief over the phone, stating she was watching the arraignment while planning her daughter’s funeral. Nevaeh’s birthday was just a few days before her tragic death. “She’s just a good kid,” her mother expressed. “Now I have to choose the final outfit for her to wear.”
In the wake of the incident, a fundraiser is scheduled at Mulligan’s Pub & Grub in Farmington Hills. Robert McKiddy, the pub owner, revealed that he has known Sterling Pierce for nearly two decades and described him as a regular patron.
McKiddy spoke about the situation, saying, “I feel for them. I really do. The community is hurting. It’s a difficult time for everyone involved.” Donations collected will help cover funeral expenses for the victims.
The police reported discovering the bodies of Holly Kimball, 53, and Sterling Pierce, 58, on the backyard patio. In addition, Tanner Pierce, 22, and Nevaeh Finch, 21, were found deceased in a bedroom of the same home.
Notably, a family dog was also discovered with a gunshot wound and has since been taken for treatment.
Gage Pierce remains in custody, with his next court appearance scheduled for June 25.
