Report claims Jeffrey Epstein attempted suicide several times in jail, with multiple nooses discovered in his cell

New Findings on Jeffrey Epstein’s Death

New insights into the death of Jeffrey Epstein, the disgraced financier and convicted sex offender, reveal he had attempted suicide at least three times prior to his successful attempt in August 2019. After his death, investigators discovered his cell filled with nooses and other materials associated with suicide.

Nicholas Tartaglione, a former NYPD officer currently serving a life sentence for murder, briefly shared a cell with Epstein at the now-closed Metropolitan Correctional Center. Tartaglione recounted to a newspaper that just days before Epstein’s first reported suicide attempt on July 22, 2019, Epstein asked him how to make a noose. This inquiry came shortly after Epstein had been denied bail, marking the 13th day of his incarceration.

In the subsequent days, Tartaglione claimed he witnessed Epstein attempting suicide on two occasions. In one instance, Epstein was seen tying a sheet to the bars of his cell window, while during another interaction, he found a noose hidden under his mattress after waking up in a darkened cell.

Tartaglione informed guards about these attempts, but he reported that they responded with laughter. Nevertheless, another inmate, Peter Bright, confirmed Tartaglione’s claims, recalling that he heard about Epstein’s attempts shortly after the latter’s death.

On July 22, just weeks before his passing, Tartaglione discovered Epstein unresponsive on the floor with an orange cloth noose around his neck. Initially, Epstein told prison staff that his cellmate had tried to harm him. An internal investigation would later connect Tartaglione to this event.

When Epstein was ultimately found dead on the morning of August 10, his cell contained various items, including sheets and ropes, that were prohibited for him to possess, along with strips of cloth that could be fashioned into nooses.
