NASCAR is marking a significant milestone by celebrating both the 250th anniversary of the United States’ founding and the establishment of the U.S. Navy with a new race on its calendar.
The Anduril 250 is set to take place on a newly created road course at Naval Base Coronado in San Diego, California. This track spans 3.4 miles and features 19 turns, making the total race distance 255 miles, which equates to 75 laps for the drivers.
Shane Van Gisbergen, who many consider to be the top road course driver in NASCAR, will begin the race from the pole position. He has an impressive record, winning seven out of 14 road races, and is just two victories shy of matching Geoff Gordon’s record of nine wins.
