Trump: The 250th Anniversary of America Is a Moment to Take Pride in Our History

President Trump Celebrates America’s 250th Anniversary

President Donald Trump highlighted that the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States is a moment to take pride in the country’s history and to think bigger about its future potential. During the initial festivities for the Great American State Fair—a celebration organized by Freedom 250—Trump noted that “the great civilizations of history were not buried in the decrepit ruins of the past.” He promised that future generations would inherit “the richest heritage” and “the most advanced civilization.”

Trump reflected on historical civilizations, saying, “From Athens to Rome, London to Paris, New York to Los Angeles, and everywhere else, history’s great societies didn’t just fade away; they built new cities and left lasting legacies that inspire us even today.”

As the nation gears up for its 250th anniversary, Trump pointed out that while the U.S. may be young in comparison to some other countries, it stands out as greater than any nation ever formed. He noted that the United States embodies the “light of Western civilization.”

He continued, “This anniversary is a time to be proud of our nation’s past, but also to set our sights higher, to broaden our ambitions, and to elevate our expectations for what America can achieve.” He expressed that Americans are “leaving our children the richest heritage in human history, the most advanced civilization, and the highest standard of living.”

In April, Freedom 250 announced that the Great American State Fair would take place from June 25 to July 10 on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. It was reported that the Fair would feature unique daily events that engage participants from every state and territory.

The Fair promises an array of highlights including a 110-foot-tall Ferris wheel and the updated Smithsonian National Carousel, along with numerous hands-on activities aimed at bringing the trade show environment to life. Additionally, there will be various STEM-based activities designed for children.

On Sunday, Freedom 250 shared on social media images of the Ferris wheel being assembled on the National Mall in preparation for the event.

Daily themes for the Great American State Fair include “American Canon: Opening Day,” “Military and Veterans Appreciation Day,” and “Everyday Health and Wellbeing | MAHA Monday,” among others, as outlined on the Freedom 250 website.
