Trump Nominates Lance Schroyer as ICE Director
President Donald Trump has announced the nomination of Lance Schroyer, currently serving as a senior adviser to the Secretary of Homeland Security, for the role of director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). This decision is largely due to Schroyer’s notable experience in tackling severe criminal activity.
On his Truth Social platform, President Trump emphasized Schroyer’s extensive background, stating, “Lance has over 29 years of law enforcement experience in Oklahoma.”
Schroyer also boasts a history as a U.S. Marine and an Oklahoma State Trooper, which adds to his qualifications.
“He is a patriot with real operational experience and a proven leader with decades of experience stopping the worst, including spearheading the 287G law enforcement partnership with ICE!” Trump declared. “Lance has first-hand experience getting illegal aliens off our streets, and like me and Secretary of Homeland Security Mark Wayne Mullin, he loves the men and women of ICE.”
Trump further stated that, “Importantly, Lance Schroyer has the ability to detain and deport criminal illegal aliens, including murderers, rapists, and drug traffickers, at rates never seen before! Remember, our administration has by far the highest daily arrest rate by ICE and CBP of any other president. Not even close!”
The President urged the Senate to confirm Schroyer “immediately” to enhance the safety of America.
If Schroyer is confirmed, he will have a significant role in executing Trump’s immigration policies.
Mark Wayne Mullin, the Secretary of DHS and a former Oklahoma Senator, commended Trump’s choice. He remarked that, “President Trump has made an excellent choice, and I am confident that Lance’s strong leadership and first-hand experience will empower the men and women of ICE to deport criminal illegal aliens, ensure the safety of our homeland, and protect the American people.” Mullin also noted the urgency, pointing out that it has been 11 years since the Senate confirmed an ICE director.
The Department of Homeland Security highlights that Schroyer has nearly three decades of experience with a focus on interagency cooperation, complex tactical planning, and ensuring constitutional safeguards in policy applications.
Schroyer also held a position as a Major in the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety’s Emergency Services Force, where he oversaw various specialized units dedicated to child abduction rescues, disaster responses, civil disturbances, immigration, VIP protection, threat assessments, and rapid response tasks.
