Kevin Owens’ Injury Update and Future in WWE
Kevin Owens has been sidelined from wrestling for several months now. The last time fans saw him compete was shortly before WrestleMania 41, where he revealed he would undergo neck surgery, which would keep him out of action for a significant period.
Since then, Owens has mostly been absent from the ring. He did make cameo appearances, like coaching on WWE LFG and showing up on the pre-show for NXT’s The Great American Bash.
In a recent interview, Owens’ close friend and fellow wrestler, Sami Zayn, shared some insights about him. Zayn noted that it will take time for Owens to return to competing, primarily due to the nature of his surgery. He mentioned, “I don’t want to discuss my medical issues, but Kevin’s surgery is something that requires time. He’ll be focusing on the right rehabilitation, and when it comes to fusion surgeries, it’s really just about being patient and allowing the healing process to happen.”
Zayn believes that Owens’ return will significantly bolster the quality of WWE’s flagship shows, like Monday Night Raw and Friday Night SmackDown. He expressed his desire to see Owens back soon, remarking, “I think the fans really do… I often get questions about him, showing how much he is loved and missed. He’s truly a valuable and unique talent, and his absence creates a noticeable gap.”
Zayn further emphasized that Owens adds depth and excitement to any show he’s part of. “Having him return will enhance the quality of whatever show he’s on—it’s obvious,” he said.
Both Zayn and Owens have been integral figures in WWE ever since they joined, and they achieved notable success as two-time tag team champions, having recently won the titles from The Usos at WrestleMania 39.
