Allegations Against Former Campaign Volunteer
A recent controversy involving a former volunteer for a transgender Democratic Socialist Congressional candidate in Wisconsin has sparked outrage. Allegations are being made about extremist messages encouraging violence against Republicans.
Teha Delaruelle reportedly shared a video on platforms like Instagram and TikTok, which has since gained attention and criticism from conservative circles.
“We’re not going to ensure they walk the streets without fear,” Delaruelle states in one segment of the video, which appears to promote a harsh stance against local Republicans.
In another post, she seems to advocate for a so-called “trans jihad,” aimed at confronting those she labels as “oppressors, bigots, and MAGA beasts.” She asserts that people from marginalized backgrounds shouldn’t have to live in fear anymore, declaring, “This is their new reality.” It feels pretty intense when you hear someone talk about making others feel that way.
When asked for clarification, Delaruelle claimed her posts were meant to be satirical, stating, “I don’t want violence, I just got carried away.” She suggested her words were misinterpreted, apologizing for any offense caused.
The Congressional candidate, Katrina DeVille, confirmed that Delaruelle was no longer part of the campaign. DeVille remarked that Delaruelle had only volunteered briefly and had been removed due to “serious problems.” Concern about the increasing intensity of Delaruelle’s rhetoric led to her being blocked from the campaign’s social media.
DeVille’s campaign platform advocates for progressive policies, including a minimum wage increase and the impeachment of Donald Trump.
The situation has drawn widespread condemnation, with the Brown County Republican Party denouncing Delaruelle’s messages as dangerous. They emphasized the need for respectful political discourse and a safer Wisconsin.
As of now, there appears to be a lack of supportive social media activity for DeVille’s campaign following the controversy.
