Vermont Governor Phil Scott has endorsed Nikki Haley ahead of next week's New Hampshire Republican primary.
Scott, a critic of former President Donald Trump, referenced the former president in a statement released by his campaign on Friday.
“America has a decision to make, and New Hampshire's friends and neighbors have an opportunity to demonstrate their deep-rooted independence. After years of controversy, violent speech, and increasing polarization, we “The last thing we need is four more years of Donald Trump's policies,” he said.

“Our future is at stake, and Americans deserve a candidate of character and integrity who respects the rule of law, the rights of all people, and the Constitution,” added Scott, a Republican. “In my view, the Republican primary is now a two-person race, and Governor Haley has the only chance to ensure America has the choice it deserves in November.”
Scott has been at odds with Trump for some time. In 2020, she admitted to crossing party lines and voted for President Biden.
“Whether you are a Republican or an independent, I encourage you to vote for Governor Haley in the Republican primary. I sincerely hope that the good people of New Hampshire will send a clear message. This is not the time for Republicans or independents.'' We have no choice but to be patient. It's time to move our country forward,” Scott said.
