A judge will dismiss her client Monday during a divorce hearing involving Nathan Wade, the special prosecutor hired by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis to handle the Georgia election interference case against former President Donald Trump. Willis, who is accused of having an affair with Wade, was originally scheduled to give a deposition in the case on Tuesday, but Judge Henry Thompson postponed sentencing until after Wade was cross-examined later this month.

During a brief hearing Monday in Cobb County Superior Court, Willis' attorney Cinque Axum said Willis is busy with other legal matters, including the most important election interference case involving former President Trump. , argued that the client should not be dismissed.

Are you saying that your client lacks unique personal knowledge that the law cannot discover?'' In some other way? ” Thompson asked.
Axum responded that the case has been ongoing for more than two years and that the deposition order was only received in recent weeks.
“I think there are other avenues in this case where we can get that information,” Axum said.
Willis was subpoenaed for a deposition in the divorce case on the same day that attorney Ashley Merchant, a former Trump campaign staffer and former White House aide, filed a motion alleging a romantic relationship between Willis and Wade. A letter has been served.

Joycelyn Wade's attorney filed court documents showing that Wade purchased the plane ticket in Willis' name, adding, “There appears to be no reasonable explanation for their trip other than romantic involvement.” he claimed.

The extramarital affair has disrupted the election interference case that accuses Trump and 18 allies of working to overturn his 2020 election loss in the state. Trump and others used the allegations to attack the case and Wade's qualifications as a prosecutor. President Trump has denied any wrongdoing and called the charges politically motivated.
