A Gulfport, Mississippi, woman who was convicted of murder in 1995 has been arrested again, this time accused of killing her son and hiding his body behind a false wall.
The Gulfport Police Department announced Saturday that 66-year-old Jerry Lynn Isreal was arrested and charged with first-degree murder.
According to the investigation, on December 22, 2023, at approximately 5:45 p.m., officers responded to a residence on 16th Street for a report of a missing person.
After several follow-ups with Izreal, detectives began noticing several inconsistencies in her statements on December 27th.

Police said Isreal became increasingly uncooperative during the investigation and changed his statements multiple times.
Investigators learned that Isreal had been arrested and convicted of murder in Florida in 1995.
Detectives also discovered that she had attempted to abandon the deceased's remains at several locations throughout Florida.

Based on that information, detectives obtained a search warrant for her home, which was executed at approximately 10 a.m. on January 18, 2024.
As detectives and crime scene technicians executed a search warrant, Izreal was taken to a nearby hospital for unspecified treatment.
Detectives at the home discovered a wooden box behind a false wall during a search, which police said contained a body later identified as John Allen Gaither.
Gaither is Isreal's son, according to WLOX in Biloxi, Mississippi.

Mr. Isreal was taken to police headquarters for processing and then transported to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center, where he was held.
