On Monday's broadcast of Fox News Channel's “Fox & Friends,” 2024 Democratic presidential candidate Rep. Dean Phillips (D-MN) said the border problem is not due to a lack of funding, but a flawed refugee law. This is due to the manner in which the law is enforced.
Phillips said, “Every day I talk to voters in New Hampshire who are desperate for help, and the government isn't listening. By the way, I have a lot of center-left ideas. There are a lot of right-wing ideas.”
Co-host Brian Kilmeade asked what it was.
“Fiscal responsibility, our southern border is a disaster. I'm a Democrat, but I've been there twice. I've seen it. Someone has to get it under control,” Phillips said. ”
Kilmeade then asked, “So the President go and give me the money.” I asked for money. But it's not a question of money, right? ”
Mr. Phillips replied: It's policy enforcement. By the way, I think we need to change our asylum policy. It's not serving this country. Democrats know that. Republicans know it. A lack of leadership and a willingness to act boldly for fear of losing an election is why we are in this position. ”
