(wisconsin) — Rite aid has announced plans to close more stores, in addition to the approximately 200 stores it has closed since filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection last year.
The Philadelphia-based company has reported annual losses in recent years and, like its rivals, faces financial risks from lawsuits over opioid prescriptions. Rite Aid has already reached multiple settlements, including one with the state of West Virginia announced last year for up to $30 million.
After filing for bankruptcy protection in mid-October, the chain announced the following store closures: Over 150 stores in 15 states. In late November, Rite Aid announced the closure of 31 additional stores.
According to a new court filing dated January 23, the following 10 stores are scheduled to close:
- 5520 Woodruff Avenue, Lakewood, California
- 8694 Lake Murray Boulevard, San Diego, California
- 1020 East Broadway Street, Needles, California
- 200 North Antrim Way, Greencastle, PA
- 2709 Broadway Avenue, Lorain, OH
- 249 7th Avenue, Brooklyn, New York
- 11350 Victory Boulevard, North Hollywood, California
- 9940 Sierra Avenue, Fontana, California
- 15596 West High Street, Middlefield, OH
- 7812 Flatlands Avenue, Brooklyn, New York
Rite Aid has not yet said when the closure will take place.
