Pelosi sounds warning over Trump’s attacks on Obamacare

Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) argued Tuesday that the 2024 presidential election should be about more than Trump's criminal indictment, arguing that former President Trump's Affordable Care Act (ACA) ) sounded the alarm over the attack.

In an interview on MSNBC on Tuesday, Pelosi criticized President Trump's recent remarks that “Obamacare sucks” and his insistence on replacing it with something better, saying Democrats could put health care in jeopardy. He said that voters should be emphasized that there is a gender.

“He lies all the time, but sometimes you have to listen to him when he lies,” Pelosi said. “For example, he lied and said, “Obamacare sucks,'' or, to use his language, “Obamacare sucks.'' Listen when he says that. Of course not. The Affordable Care Act is the solution. So on the campaign trail, people need to understand that their well-being is on the ballot.”

Ms. Pelosi touted some popular provisions of the ACA (“Obamacare”) that have grown in popularity in recent years. Republicans once adopted a “repeal and replace” strategy for Obamacare, but after several failed attempts, they largely gave up on the fight.

Rather than ceding the centerpiece of her campaign to President Trump's claims that the Justice Department is being mobilized against her, Ms. Pelosi said Democrats have the power to make health care and freedom of choice the centerpiece of her campaign. He emphasized that there is.

“What I want people to understand is that while you may want to vote for a convicted felon, you don't want to vote for someone who wants to take away your health care, especially if you have a pre-existing condition or have a child with a pre-existing condition. Do you want to vote? Do you want to make sure that your daughter's wife, your sister, your family member doesn't have the freedom to make decisions about her reproductive health?'' He also referred to general policy views and said:

“In 2018, people said to me, 'Aren't you lucky that health care became a central issue in your campaign and you won 40 seats and won the House of Representatives?'” I said, “No, we weren't lucky.'' We made our own luck. So let's continue. Forget about him and his dysfunction. And please understand that we must vote. ”
