Billionaire Bill Ackman is calling on President Biden to secure the border as Texas battles with the federal government over its authority to protect itself from illegal border crossings.
Ackman was responding to a letter from former FBI agents who told Congressional leaders that poor border security is one of the most “pernicious” threats to the American people.
“Soldiers from around the world, from countries and regions unfriendly to the United States, are landing in our country in waves by the thousands,” the former FBI agents wrote.

“What does this mean for the safety and security of our country?” he asked. “What is Biden, or the people behind Biden, thinking?”
Ackman also wrote in an X Friday post that the border debate has made it almost “certain” that Biden will “lose the election.”

Late Wednesday night, Texas Governor Greg Abbott declared the state's constitutional authority to reserve the right to defend itself against invasion, saying the executive branch had failed to enforce federal immigration law and that the state had a constitutional right to defend itself against invasion. “The federal government has broken the Inter-American Agreement,” Abbott said in a public statement. “The U.S. executive branch has a constitutional duty to enforce federal laws that protect states, including immigration laws currently in place. President Biden has refused to enforce and even violate these laws. ing.”

Legal experts told FOX News Digital that Texas is within its constitutional rights to cut razor wire, even if the federal government continues to reduce wire fencing before an appeals court takes up the issue. He said it was within the Supreme Court's order to continue building the fence.
