A California man pleaded guilty Monday to federal stalking charges, threatening victims, shooting up a synagogue and threatening to “annihilate” Jews and Asian Americans on 14 occasions, according to the Department of Justice. He admitted to participating in a month-long campaign. .
Andre Moreau Lackner, 35, of Northridge, pleaded guilty to one count of stalking, officials said.
According to court documents, from June 2021 to October 2022, Lackner sent the victim a series of abusive text messages.
In these messages, Mr. Lackner told the victims, “Hitler was right about you,” “I want to see every single Jew wiped from the face of the earth,” and “I want to celebrate the next Jew.” He made a series of anti-Semitic statements, including “What’s that?” Synagogue shooting? ” and “Before I leave this earth, I will definitely kill every Jew.”

Lackner also texted the victim multiple racist comments against Asian Americans, including, “We need to start hating more Asian Americans.”
According to court documents, text messages sent by Lackner to the victim caused her to fear death or serious injury to herself or a member of her immediate family.
U.S. Attorney Martin Estrada said, “My office remains steadfast in standing up to hate and working towards community unity.” “We must hold people like this defendant accountable who make vile, anti-Semitic, racist threats that put victims at risk for their lives. We commend them for intervening and acting decisively to protect the victims.”

The Justice Department did not say whether he was aware of his attempts to carry out his threats.
Lackner has been in federal custody since December 2022.
“The defendant’s abhorrent behavior left the victim in fear of harm and death,” said Donald Allway, deputy director of the FBI’s Los Angeles field office. “The FBI urges victims of stalking to contact law enforcement to report it.”

A sentencing hearing is scheduled for June 3, and Lackner faces the statutory maximum sentence of five years in federal prison.
