Former Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) said Monday on CNN’s “Newsnight” that former officials in President Donald Trump’s administration are warning voters that President Donald Trump is dangerous. He called it a “patriotic duty.”
Anchor Abby Phillip said, “November looks like it’s going to be a showdown between Biden and Trump. What do you think would happen if the election were held today?”
“The polls today change all the time, but you never know. It’s going to be a close election either way, that’s what I’m saying. You meet people like James Mattis and John Kerry,” Franken said. Can I read some of this? This is John Kelly saying about President Trump, “The depth of his fraud, Kelly was his chief of staff, It’s just amazing,” he said. He is the most flawed person I have ever met in my life. ” Understood? This is James Mattis, “He’s more dangerous than anyone I could have imagined.” I would like to see former Trump administration officials start saying who this man is. ”
Philip said, “Do you think that will happen?”
Franken said: I hope they’re still watching. If they’re a patriot and they’re upset about this guy and they feel like he’s the most dangerous person they’ve ever seen, the worst character of anyone they’ve ever met, then they should go outside. It’s your patriotic duty to come out and tell the tale. People about this. We can’t have this person running our government. ”
