Man arrested after allegedly decapitating father, displaying head on YouTube in conspiracy rant

A Pennsylvania man has been arrested on suspicion of murdering his father, holding his severed head and posting a video on YouTube spouting right-wing conspiracy theories.

Justin Mohn, 32, was charged at 4 a.m. Thursday with first-degree murder, abuse of a corpse and possession of an instrument of crime. court documents show. He is charged by the Middletown Township Police Department with the murder of his father, Michael Mone. he told NBC News.

Mr Mone was refused bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for February 8th.

The 14-minute YouTube video, titled “Mohn’s Militia – Call to Arms For American Patriots,” shows Mohn wearing gloves and holding his father’s head against a plastic bag. His head was later found in a cooking pot, according to NBC News.

In the video, Mohn said his father was a federal employee for 20 years. He called his father a traitor and called for the murder of all federal employees. He attacked President Biden’s administration, the Black Lives Matter movement, the LGBTQ community, and Antifa activists.

The YouTube video was deleted hours after it was posted. YouTube said Mohn’s channel on the site has been shut down and its team is monitoring the video for reuploads on other accounts.

Officers found Michael Mone’s body in a first-floor bathroom, with extensive blood stains surrounding it. Police said the man’s head was removed from his body and was found in a pot in a bedroom next to the bathroom, NBC News reported.

Justin Mone’s mother, Denise Mone, left her home at 2pm on Tuesday while two men were in the house. When Denise Mohn returned, her son and her husband’s Toyota Corolla were missing, the Associated Press reported. Police responded to the call Tuesday around 7 p.m.

Mohn fled in his father’s car and was found and taken into custody several hours later by the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office. the office said. According to USA TodayMiddletown Township Police Lt. Pete Feeney said Mone was arrested near the National Guard Training Center at Fort Indiantown Gap, about 100 miles away.

Feeney said it was unclear why he fled to the area, but police were able to locate Mohn using his cell phone.

Authorities said they are continuing to investigate and will release more information as it becomes available. Feeney said there are many unanswered questions, but Mohn is not just talking about the case.

The Hill reached out to local authorities for an update, but a spokesperson for the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office told The Associated Press Wednesday that they would not be commenting further on the case.
