Pop star Taylor Swift’s relationship with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has been the subject of much debate lately.
Fans complain that they don’t want to watch the game if the cameras focus on Swift in the stands rather than the players on the field.
However, Front Office Sports estimates that Swift has had an impact of more than $300 million on the Chiefs’ and NFL’s revenue.
Shannon Sharpe believes Swift is a smart move for the Chiefs.
“You guys have to understand. The NFL is playing chess and you’re playing checkers. Everyone’s talking about stopping playing Taylor Swift,” Sharp said, adding, “She’s different. “We’re attracting new audiences and new attention,” he added.
Sharp also said that while she loves artists like Beyoncé, who has performed at Super Bowl halftime shows in the past, “Beyoncé isn’t moving the needle like this chick.”
“She’s the closest we’ve ever seen to moving the needle like Michael Jackson,” he added.
Jason Whitlock agrees with Sharpe.
“I agree with Shannon that Taylor Swift has changed more than Beyoncé,” Whitlock tells Shemeka Michelle. “I don’t think she’s in the same stratosphere as Michael Jackson.”
“When Michael Jackson died, he looked like a skinny white woman. Maybe that’s what they have in common,” Michelle added.
