Beverly Hills police took a suspect into custody Thursday after responding to an active threat situation at the city’s famous Waldorf Astoria.
Beverly Hills police said they responded to the hotel regarding an “armed man” who was on the hotel’s balcony.

A person at the scene said. Holly Reporter There was a large police presence nearby, with SWAT vehicles and helicopters circling overhead.
Responding officers encountered the suspect barricaded in a room. Crisis negotiators made contact with the suspect, who voluntarily surrendered to police.
Beverly Hills police later announced that the suspect was in custody and would remain at the scene for investigation. BHPD said there is no longer a threat to the public and the road will be reopened soon.

BHPD has not released additional information about the circumstances of the arrest or what led to it.
“We can confirm that an isolated incident occurred at the Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills, and the hotel is cooperating fully with local authorities. The health, safety, and security of our guests and team members is of paramount importance and we will continue to “All practices and standards comply with strict safety and security regulations,” a Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills spokesperson told FOX News Digital in a statement.

The incident occurred ahead of celebrity Clive Davis’ Grammy party, which was scheduled for Saturday ahead of Sunday’s Grammy Awards.
