The life of a singer is a journey. Some songs take years to reach the right ears. Some are instant hits. Some things just exist, never leaving the people who created them. But the truth is, no one knows when or where a song will take hold.
In October 2022, Breitbart News learned of a song called “Checking In” that was trending on Tik Tok and Instagram. It was a simple performance. Recorded with iPhone outside the camper Somewhere in the countryside outside of Nashville, one of those writers sang, Michael Farren. The song’s message was similarly simple: “In a fast-paced world, find time to call your dad.” That message resonated with us and our readers.
In his Breitbart profile, Farren, who wrote “Checking In” with a fellow Nashville songwriter, says: kenneth hart and garrett jacobs, “At some point along the way, you just swallow hard… There may be scars, there may be pain, there may be years of shit history. But at some point, I think, “Well, I’m going to be the best version of myself that I can be.” I’m going to pick up the phone and say hello to the person I call dad and say I love you. ” He could be amazing. He could be terrible. Something powerful happens simply by letting people know that they are seen and heard. Letting parents know they are seen and heard makes all the difference. ”
So began the song’s journey…and what a home it found.

Farren took the song to Colt Murski, vice president of Curb | Country Publishing & Creative. Word Music Publishing hopes this song reaches the ears of Curb’s biggest country star, his ACM/CMA award winner lee brice. The only problem was that there was no proper demo of this song. But Mursky knew the song was special and told Breitbart News that he simply downloaded the raw acoustic version on Tik Tok and texted it to Bryce. “It wasn’t that long that Lee emailed back and said, ‘Can I put that song on hold?’ So Bryce went into the studio to cut the song. That would be a happy ending for any song, but “Checking In” had more work to do before its release.
Meanwhile, this viral sensation caught the attention of brothers Joel and Luke, who make up the hugely successful and multi-Grammy award winning Christian duo. for the king and country — a band with 11 No. 1 hits and a staggering 2.5 billion streams over the course of their career. The brothers just happened to be finishing production on a faith-based film centered around the incredible true story of their family’s journey from Australia to the United States. The unsung hero (Opens April 26th) ” is a story about a fresh start in the face of great loss and the faith that unites a family on the road to superstardom. No wonder Kingdom Story Company, the company behind the mega-hit, would do so. jesus revolution and i can only imagine, Contracted as a production company. When the brothers heard “Checking In,” they realized that thematically, The unsung hero. However, Lee Brice had already cut the song.
So, what should we do?
Here, the theme of family appears again in this song. For King + Country coincidentally he’s also an artist on Curb records, and label executives thought he had the smarts to combine two of his most successful artists in two different music genres into his one track. We came up with the following.

Both Bryce and Smallbones reportedly got emotional while filming their performance… From a simple theme that started with a simple performance. Recorded with iPhone outside the camper Somewhere in the countryside outside of Nashville. “Check-in” has found its home.
