The Senate’s border bill, which promised to reduce immigration disruption at the border, actually invites an increase in the flow by welcoming immigrants seeking jobs and applying for asylum.
“I’ve seen enough.” Said A tweet Sunday night from House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-Louisiana) added:
This bill is even worse than we expected and will come nowhere close to ending the border disaster the president has wrought. As the Democratic chief negotiator declared, “the border will never close” under this bill.
The phrase “borders never close” is often played Words from Democratic Party’s top negotiator, Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Connecticut).
In a series of tweets Sunday night, Murphy said Democratic promises to curb illegal immigration, including the much-touted border “closing” process, were being trumped by a host of pro-immigration rules. I smiled.
A faster and fairer asylum process. No need to wait another 10 years. Claims will be processed within six months in a non-custodial and non-adversarial manner. Asylum screening standards at the border are slightly higher. You also no longer have to wait for a work permit. Most asylum seekers are able to work immediately.
An entirely new right to legal representation for all immigrants. Remember when President Trump denied legal representation to victims of the Muslim immigration ban?
And…this is the first time the government has paid legal fees for an unaccompanied minor. Years of injustice have been righted.
The President’s requirement that asylum applications be collected at land ports of entry if more than 5,000 people are passing through in a day. Borders will not be closed, but insurance claims will have to be processed at the port. This allows for a more orderly and humane asylum processing system.
But…an important check on its power. It can only be used for a limited number of days per year. It will sink in 3 years. Emergency situations that occur between ports must still be accommodated. At the port he has to process at least 1,400 claims per day.
“Democrats proudly proclaim new border law”I never have close” border And, of course, the entire $115 billion will be borrowed. ” Said Tweet from Sen. Rand Paul (R-Kentucky). “There is nothing, absolutely nothing, about this deal that is conservative.”
“”border I never have close” “Democratic Chief Negotiator on Senate Bill” tweeted Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Missouri). “That’s all you need to know.”
Murphy continued:
We cannot reduce the number of arrivals at our borders without allowing more legal immigration. So let’s get more visas! Add 50,000 employment visas and family reunification visas each year for the next five years.and an entirely new visa category that allows non-citizens to visit family members in the United States
Now that it is clear how humanitarian parole will be used at land borders, the program known as CNHV (Cuba, Nicaragua, Haiti and Venezuela Parole) will allow vetted and sponsored migrants to be brought in. There is no change in the ability of the president to come.
A new path to citizenship for children of Afghan parolees (Afghan Adjustment Act) and H1B holders (currently these children are often subject to deportation once they turn 21).
This bill will help repair our borders and reform our broken asylum system. But it does not deviate from our country’s core values. We are a nation that saves people from terrorism and violence. We are a stronger nation because of our immigrant heritage. period. Stop.
Critics of the bill highlighted sections of the text that justified many of the earlier warnings.
.@Senator Lankford @SenMikeRounds So much for liars, internet rumors, and Russian propaganda. Everything that we reported three weeks ago to be in the bill is in the bill.
We look forward to your apology. pic.twitter.com/7d6n3twFAE

Even Republican senators who support increased immigration have concerns about the bill. “Personally, I think it would be a mistake to send this bill to the House without a majority in the Republican conference,” said Sen. Thom Tillis (R-North Carolina). Said of washington post.
The border deal is even worse than we thought.
No one who cares about the security of our borders should support it. It is a betrayal of the American people.

Murphy’s explanation demonstrated the hollowness of previous claims that the bill would allow the president to close the border during the current crisis. It was created by President Joe Biden’s decision to rescind border security rules adopted by President Donald Trump.
The influx of new immigrants will depress the U.S. economy by forcing employers to cut wages and reduce investment in labor-saving technologies that increase Americans’ productivity, output, and overall wealth.
The bill would also change American society by making housing more expensive and making it harder for ordinary Americans to raise families and children for the next generation.
Under current law, the federal government only allows 1 million legal immigrants, even though Americans give birth to about 3.6 million new Americans each year and about 4 million young adults graduate from high school each year. are allowed to be imported.
But this bill would significantly strengthen the asylum system and give more people around the world both the incentive and the means to immigrate to the United States. The huge influx would hit Americans’ living standards and threaten the political careers of Republican politicians.
The bill’s asylum section is a pro-immigration force eager to give unvetted powers to grant work permits, asylum, and expedited citizenship to grateful immigrants who provide a “clear and convincing” story. Create a new asylum process run by sect officials. of oppression and suffering.
The much-touted border “closure” trigger does not close asylum processing at the border.
The asylum process would allow millions of immigrants supported by Biden in 2024 and 2025 to enter voting booths by 2030.
No, this bill does not in any way “close illegal crosswalks.” It would codify the release of inadmissible foreigners into the United States (which is also unwise). This is a bill aimed at vastly increasing the supply of labor, rather than closing borders. https://t.co/V1fRINncfA

The bill also would not stop Biden’s “parole” immigration, which would send about 1 million immigrants into U.S. workplaces and communities in 2023. Before Biden, the parole process brought only about 15,000 immigrants a year.
The bill also discourages litigation by placing all judicial oversight of the immigration system in the progressive-majority D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals. This change would largely prevent state and local officials, or the American public, from trying to protect Republican goals and civic priorities from Murphy’s immigration expansion law.
The bill also increases incentives and tools for foreign graduates to fill more white-collar jobs across the United States. Fortune 500 companies already place about 1.5 million foreign graduates in U.S. jobs, a move that the federal government already requires companies to pay to foreign workers conditional on green cards or citizenship. Part of the reason is that they acknowledge that.
The rise in white-collar migration comes as many white-collar jobs are being eliminated or degraded by artificial intelligence.
The Biden administration has created a border disaster.
The President has the authority to take action today to fix it. But he refuses to act. pic.twitter.com/YIi8CIBOkI— Speaker Mike Johnson (@SpeakerJohnson) February 4, 2024
