The Israel Defense Forces confirmed the deaths of 31 hostages held by Hamas.

Some of the deaths occurred during Hamas’ attack on Israel on October 7 or were injured while being detained, while others were killed by Hamas in Gaza.
So far, there have been discussions about releasing more hostages following recent losses.
The Qatari prime minister said Hamas has endorsed a recently proposed agreement that includes a ceasefire and the release of Palestinian prisoners.
Secretary of State Blinken says an agreement with terrorist organizations is achievable, but will require more effort.
“There is a response from the rebels from Hamas, but it seems a little over the top. I don’t know where that is,” President Joe Biden said.
On Wednesday, the families of French-Israeli hostages called for their release.
“We don’t need people who expect from us. I have hope. We need help. To free our citizens from Hamas captivity. Ohad is a French national and I am free. I ask France to make every effort to protect him and everyone,” said Ayla Yahalomi-Luzon, sister of Israeli-French hostage Ohad Yahalomi.
Israeli War Cabinet Secretary Benny Gantz said the war had two goals.
“The return of the abductees is an essential part of victory and does not replace our obligation to eliminate the Hamas threat. “It’s a step on the way,” he said Wednesday.
He also said he would move from Tel Aviv to a small community next to the Gaza border as a way to support the thousands of Israelis who were left homeless in the October 7 massacre by Hamas.
