Two Michigan suspects have been arrested in connection with a robbery and sexual assault in Northville Township late last month, according to reports. WJBK. The attack occurred while the 1-year-old was present.
Javon Bryant Anderson, 29, and a second unidentified suspect carried out the attack at a residence at Eight Mile Road and Silver Spring Driver. A man was reportedly assaulted and a woman raped. The attack occurred on January 20th, but the suspects were not arrested until February 5th.
The suspect and victim were scheduled to meet for an online sale.
Detective Dan Jones said: “The incident itself lasted approximately 20 minutes from start to finish.” Anderson is reportedly from Detroit, and the second unidentified suspect is from Taylor. The second suspect was taken into federal custody after being arrested on federal weapons charges.
Jones said a total of 26 charges were filed against the two suspects.
a Second report The male resident said he was lured out of his home and then assaulted. The man was then forced back to his home where he was continuously beaten while the woman was sexually assaulted. The man and his 1-year-old child were held at gunpoint during the sexual assault.
“Through intensive investigative efforts, Northville Township Police have identified two suspects,” Northville Township Police said in a statement.
“On February 5, a coordinated effort involving the Northville Township Detective Bureau, FBI SWAT, FBI Violent Crimes Task Force, Michigan State Police, and Canton Special Operations Group executed search warrants at residences in Taylor and Detroit. ”
Apparently this is not Anderson’s first crime. He has previous felony convictions and his bail is set at $500,000.
“In my 17 years of experience here, this is a very unusual incident,” Jones said. “Both electronic and physical surveillance was conducted twice a week.”
The assault victim was treated at a nearby hospital and quickly released.
“The victims are safe,” Jones said. “Obviously they’re going through a process and going through a lot of trauma that needs healing.”
Anderson is scheduled to appear in court on February 16th.
It is not yet clear what motivated the attack.
