Advertising company sends objects to space

(news nation) — A new company is allowing companies to send almost anything, except people, into space as an advertising effort.

sent to space was founded by Chris Rose, who told NewsNation it took a lot of work for the company to become the go-to for people wanting to send something into space.

“Much of our research and development work focused on testing highly durable technologies designed for use in space,” he said.

Items the company has sent into space include a stroller, chicken nuggets, a Barbie doll, a wedding dress, a portrait of William Shakespeare, and a Slurpee.

“We’ve been asked to do some pretty unusual things,” Rose said.

But Rose said his proudest accomplishments include scientific discoveries.

“Our mission required us to design a spacecraft to explore parts of the upper atmosphere, collect samples of it, and return them to work for scientific analysis under a microscope,” he said. Told. “And in doing so, we discovered a very surprising discovery: an example of a very simple organic life called a diatom.”

How much does it cost to launch a product into space? There are many options, but it’s not cheap. Rose said it depends on the complexity of the request. For example, compare sending a can of Coca-Cola into space with sending a drink into space and having a robot open and pour the can.

“Generally speaking, that amount can range from the low thousands of dollars to the hundreds of thousands of dollars,” he says.
