49ers vet rips lineman for Super Bowl blunder, Eagles’ Jalen Carter says he ‘spoke on my dead teammate’

The Super Bowl loss is clearly still a raw wound for the Bay Area, but one San Francisco 49ers player may have taken his emotions a little too far.

Niners offensive lineman Jon Feliciano said on X that the fault lay with the wrong lineman when Kansas City Chiefs forward Chris Jones free-rushed on the Niners’ final offensive play of the game. . They had to settle for a field goal because Brock Purdy’s pass was incomplete, but it wasn’t enough.

Since Jones was scheduled to face Colton Mackiewicz, one user thought the free rush was Jones’ fault, but Feliciano chimed in.

“You think you know everything, so you should know he’s not Colton’s guy…” Feliciano posted.

“So whose guy was it?” another user replied. “It’s not his guy, but if he had quick chops to disrupt pass rush routes, it could have given Purdy enough time to get the pass out.”

Feliciano threw another teammate under the bus, although he did not name him.

“If the guy who was supposed to block him blocks him, you don’t need a quick chop,” he wrote.

That “man” was Spencer Burford, who was clearly not thrilled about being exposed to an explosion some 36 hours after the loss.

Burford referenced Feliciano’s injury in an important game, posting, “Shhh…I opened the app for this…get well soon…”

Feliciano immediately apologized, saying, “I was sick with a hangover.”

“I’m sorry, bro. I woke up with a hangover and was in a terrible state. I hurt you while trying to recover. I’m so sorry. You deserve nothing but greatness. I’m sorry,” bro. ”

Now, Jaylen Carter of the Philadelphia Eagles heard about the post and told his personal story about Feliciano.

The 49ers faced the Eagles in a Week 13 rematch of last year’s NFC Championship Game, but Feliciano seemed to go too far with his trash talk towards Carter.

Shortly after winning the national championship with Georgia last year, Georgia offensive lineman Devin Willock and recruiting staff member Chandler LeCroy were killed in a car accident. LeCroy, the driver, had a BAC of .197 while traveling at speeds over 100 miles per hour.

Two months later, it was revealed that Carter was the driver of the vehicle racing with LeCroy and Willock.

Burford told reporters Tuesday that he and Feliciano discussed the social media discussion and resolved the short-term conflict.

“It was just a miscommunication between us,” Burford said. Via NBC Sports. “He apologized.”

Carter was charged with two misdemeanor charges: reckless driving and racing. No objection was filed. He was sentenced to 12 months’ probation and ordered to pay a $1,000 fine. Carter was also ordered to perform 80 hours of community service and must complete a state-approved defensive driving course.
