Sen. Joe Manchin (D-West Virginia) said in an interview Monday night that he decided not to run for president because of the dysfunction he has seen in Congress recently.
Manchin made the remarks during an interview with Caitlan Collins on CNN’s “The Source” while discussing the upcoming 2024 presidential election.

Manchin said he has repeatedly warned Biden and his staff that they have moved too far to the left and need to make a major course correction or face a dire period this November.
Asked about endorsing Biden, Manchin said: “I don’t have anyone backing me at this point. We’ll see what happens, but there’s still plenty of time here. I’m going to bring them back to the center. I’m going to do everything in my power to show where the strength of this country is, where the voting blocs of this country are, and the extreme forces that exist no matter what. And I respect that. . And I’m going to do everything I can to let them have their say. But minorities don’t rule the era.”
