New data shows that the number of Chinese migrants crossing the southern border near San Diego now exceeds the number of Mexicans crossing the same border.
Since the fiscal year began in October, Border Patrol agents have encountered 21,000 Chinese nationals in the San Diego area, according to Customs and Border Protection data. Obtained by Fox News.
During the same period, Border Patrol agents encountered just 18,700 Mexicans attempting to cross the border into the United States in the region.

Data shows an increasing trend of Chinese people fleeing communist countries and attempting to illegally enter the United States.
Customs and Border Protection reported that 24,048 Chinese immigrants were apprehended during fiscal year 2023, a record high.
This figure is more than a tenfold increase compared to the 1,970 arrests recorded in 2022, when only 323 Chinese nationals crossed the border during the pandemic’s strict travel bans and lockdowns in 2021. This is an increase of more than 7,000% compared to 2017.
Some government officials are now concerned that this growing trend could pose a national security threat.
