A middle school in Beverly Hills, California is investigating the distribution of nude photos of students generated by artificial intelligence (AI).
Officials at Beverly Vista Middle School were alerted last week to a viral image that used AI to superimpose the faces of some students.
“We want to make clear that this behavior is unacceptable and does not reflect the values of our school community,” the district said in a statement provided to Fox News Digital. “We know similar situations are occurring across the country, but we must act now. This behavior has escalated to a level that requires the entire community to work together to stop it immediately. Masu.”

The district warned that technology is becoming more accessible to all age groups and urged parents to talk with their children about the dangers of using technology inappropriately.
Google AI found to be fabricating fake reviews attacking books based on major tech companies’ political biases
The district noted that abusing AI in this manner may not technically be a crime, as the law has not yet caught up with the technology.
”[W]”We are working closely with the Beverly Hills Police Department throughout this investigation,” the district said, “and we will ensure that if a criminal offense is discovered, we will take the fullest possible response.”
The district warned that students found creating, distributing, or possessing these types of AI-generated images “face disciplinary action,” including expulsion.
Administrators and counselors met with all classes to reiterate behavioral expectations and address the seriousness of AI abuse.
