White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre on Wednesday defended President Biden’s decision not to undergo a cognitive test as part of his medical exam, arguing that the demands of his job proved that a cognitive test was not necessary.
One reporter asked why a cognitive test was not included in the president’s physical exam, considering that the president has recently made significant gaffes that have raised questions about his mental health.
“What if we get a doctor to do some tests and solve the case?” the reporter asked.

Jean-Pierre said Biden’s doctors felt it was unnecessary, adding: “The public needs to understand that the president is passing cognitive tests every day.”
“What a clinical cognitive test is and what it actually does is it’s a 15-minute appointment and most of the time it’s done by someone that people don’t actually know,” Jean-Pierre said. Ta.
