Hunter Biden admitted in a deposition Wednesday that he spoke to his father, Joe Biden, on speakerphone with business associates and invited him to business lunches, but denied that his father was involved in any of his business dealings. He claimed that he had not done so (testimony record). This was revealed in a review by Fox News Digital.
Fox News Digital has obtained a transcript of Hunter Biden’s highly anticipated testimony. His eldest son took a deposition for more than seven hours Wednesday at the Capitol as part of the impeachment inquiry against his father.
During his deposition, Hunter Biden repeatedly testified that his father was not involved in his business dealings.
When asked about testimony from former business associates such as Devon Archer and Rob Walker, Hunter Biden claimed that his father used speakerphone to conduct business and attended business lunches and meetings. He testified, as he himself did, that it was normal behavior. He talks to his father and spends time with his father.
Archer testified before the House Oversight Committee last year that Hunter Biden put his father on speakerphone with business associates at least 20 times.
Hunter Biden was asked if his father had ever been on speakerphone with a business associate, and he testified, “Yes, my father has called me.”
“My father calls me, as many of your parents do, or as many of you do with your children. If there is, I will ask my father to say hello,” he testified. .
“I’m surprised my dad isn’t calling me right now. If he did, I’d put him on speakerphone to say hello to you and the Congressman.” [Jamie] Raskin and everyone else who was there,” Hunter Biden said. “There was literally nothing sinister about it.”
The eldest son elaborated on his relationship with his family, saying that when the president was 29 years old, “I woke up one day, went to work, got a phone call and lost my wife and daughter. And then I lost my wife and daughter in the same accident.” He explained. “He also almost lost my brother and I. And when I was 46, my 47-year-old brother died.”
“And in our family, if I call him or he calls me or one of my children, I get a call from his grandchild or one of my children. And you always answer the phone,” Hunter Biden said. “That’s what we always do. And ask anyone I know, it has nothing to do with Devon.”
She added: “If my dad calls me and I’m doing something, I either get up from the table, or if it’s someone I have a long-term relationship with, I answer the phone from the table.” Ta.
Regarding business lunches, Hunter Biden said, “If I was in New York City and my dad was in New York City at the same time and I was having lunch with some business associates, would I call that an engagement? I said,” he said. Hey, Dad, why don’t you come and have lunch? ”
“Who wouldn’t do that? Are you saying you wouldn’t do that with your father if he was in town at the same time?” Hunter Biden asked investigators.
The eldest son was asked specifically about his dealings with CEFC, a Chinese energy company said to have ties to the Chinese Communist Party.
Hunter Biden testified that he began working with CEFC in the spring of 2017 and acknowledged receiving money from his work with CEFC, but claimed his father was not involved.
“We received money from Chinese companies,” he said. “I don’t know the exact amount, but I do know that it was all completely legal and incredibly ethical…and what I do know is that my father was running a business that I I mean, I don’t take any money or profits from any business.” I’ve done it before. ”
Walker, a former business associate of Biden’s, testified that Joe Biden met with CEFC Chairman Jianming Ye, but that Hunter Biden had no recollection of the meeting.
“I don’t remember the date of the meeting,” he said. “And the main thing is that my business with CEFC is completely legal, completely 100 percent in line with my experience and capabilities, and was done while my father was not yet in office. The thing is, he was out of the office.” He had nothing to do with my father. ”
She added, “My father has never profited from my business. My father has never made any decisions related to my business that have benefited me. He has never benefited my business in any way, or in any other way. And your business isn’t even during his tenure, which we’re talking about now.”
Meanwhile, the infamous email from Hunter Biden’s former business associate James Gillier was presented to him during his deposition. It read, “Did H have 10 for the big guy?”
The email referred to a breakdown of compensation packages for employees involved in Hunter Biden’s company’s joint venture with CEFC. This failed joint venture was known as his SinoHawk Holdings.
Hunter Biden testified that he “never” called his father a “great man” and insisted his father was not involved.
“I really don’t know what the hell James was talking about,” he said. “All I know is what actually happened. All I know is that it was done in a pact, and that pact had nothing to do with my father. “My father has never been involved in my business. He has never profited from my business,” and he has never taken any action that benefited me or my business. I have never. ”
When asked why Gillier would draft such an obvious reference to the president, Hunter Biden testified:
“Because I think it was exactly what Rob Walker said. I think it was pie in the sky. It’s like Joe Biden is out of office. Maybe we’re going to see him “You can involve the people,” he said. “Remember again, Joe Biden is not an elected official and is not seeking public office for the first time in 48 years. So James is probably saying, wow, a former vice president would be Would you like to join us in our work? ”
“And I say you’re crazy. My father knows more about cross-border behavior than I do. I mean, it’s totally ridiculous. Totally ridiculous. “Shut it down,” he testified, adding, “Shut it down.”
“And the evidence that I shut it down is an actual thing that you have as evidence. Don’t forget that,” Hunter Biden continued. “Agreements, agreements made, agreements made to form a company that was never operated, that’s what happened. That’s the proof you have. You are Hudson West III, me, and Mr. Ye. We have evidence of an agreement made between.” You have it. ”
He added, “I have nothing to do with my father, zero.”
