Authorities in Virginia have arrested an illegal immigrant from Mexico in connection with the Feb. 29 kidnapping of a 15-year-old girl in Ohio.
The Butler County, Ohio, Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday arrested Isauro Garcia Cruz, 43, on charges of first-degree felony kidnapping, third-degree felony misdemeanor unlawful sexual conduct, fourth-degree felony and first-degree felony kidnapping. He was arrested on a warrant for a Class Felony. misdemeanor custodial interference;
“The victim in this case is an unaccompanied 15-year-old female from Honduras. The victim was initially placed with a sponsor in Middletown, but was later housed alone in his own apartment. Butler County eventually tracked the suspect and victim to a hotel in Virginia and contacted local authorities to arrest Garcia-Cruz. The agency then placed the victim in the care of another family.
“When you’re 15 years old, you’re not even driving and this 43-year-old guy here is illegally hugging you,” Jones said.

The Butler County sheriff has been to the border three times and said he is “outraged” by the immigration crisis. The suspect is being held at the Blue Ridge Regional Jail on a fugitive warrant and is also being held on a charge of contributing to a misdemeanor warrant out of Bedford County. This incident remains an active investigation.
News of Garcia Cruz’s arrest comes after authorities in Virginia arrested a 32-year-old illegal alien from Venezuela on February 22 in connection with sexual assault of a minor.
