Case of Missing Woman Finally Solved After 11 Years
More than a decade after the disappearance of an 18-year-old woman from North Carolina, authorities have announced that the case is now resolved. Sarah Nicole Graham’s stepmother, Connie Graham, faces charges of first-degree murder, while two of her sons are accused of assisting in covering up the crime, as reported by the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office.
This development is significant given the prolonged mystery that has puzzled investigators and left Graham’s family searching for answers, especially since her body has never been found.
Connie Graham was arrested recently and faces multiple charges including first-degree murder, tampering with evidence, theft, vandalism, and conspiracy. Her sons, Bobby Matthew McClellan and Luke Locklear, were also taken into custody. McClellan is charged with conspiracy after the fact and evidence tampering, while Locklear faces similar charges as well.
During her initial court appearance, Connie Graham was denied bail. As for McClellan and Locklear, they are each being held on a secured bond of $1 million.
Sarah Graham went missing on February 4, 2015, shortly after leaving her home around 6:30 a.m. to work at a Walmart in Pembroke. She never arrived, and later that day, her van was found abandoned in a field near Interstate 95, but there was no sign of her.
The case was in a standstill for years, but earlier this month, a Robeson County judge declared Sarah legally dead, enabling prosecutors to move forward with murder charges.
Investigators still have not located her body, and Sheriff Bernice Wilkins stated that the case remained active despite the lengthy time with no arrests. He emphasized that the mystery continues to weigh heavily on the minds of the investigative team.
Wilkins expressed hope that the recent arrests might bring some solace to Sarah’s loved ones, who have spent over a decade grappling with loss and uncertainty. He stressed the ongoing commitment to achieving justice for Sarah.
As the investigation unfolds, authorities have not disclosed specific evidence that led to the arrests, citing the need to maintain the integrity of the court case. Sarah’s mother, Katherine Armenta, expressed the difficulties faced by the family over the years and has called for anyone with information about Sarah’s disappearance to step forward.
The FBI is currently offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information that may lead to the recovery of Sarah Graham’s body.
