Sen. Katie Britt, R-Alabama, delivered her party’s rebuttal to President Biden’s State of the Union address Thursday night, calling out the president’s “dirty” work dealing with the border crisis and “in the midst of a war.” He criticized him for promoting “Bidennomics.” Rising consumer costs are hurting American households.
Britt, a 42-year-old rising star in the Republican Party, was chosen last week to deliver the rebuttal as he continues to build a national profile despite having never held public office before the election. He received widespread praise from some Democrats as well. 2022 midterm elections.

“This country we know and love seems to be slipping away, leaving the next generation with fewer opportunities and fewer freedoms than we did. I want my children to never have the American dream. I’m afraid I won’t even have a chance to live,” Britt said.
“The American Dream has become a nightmare for too many families. A true, unvarnished State of the Union begins and ends with this. Our families are hurting. Our country can do better. It should be,” she said.
Britt then tried to break down Biden’s policies, starting with the ongoing crisis at the southern border, where historic numbers of migrants are entering the United States. She particularly criticized Biden’s shift away from former President Donald Trump’s border policies.
“President Biden inherited the most secure border in history. But minutes into his inauguration, he announced plans to suspend all deportations, halt construction of the border wall, and grant amnesty to millions of people.” “We know that President Biden didn’t just do it. He created this border crisis. He created this border crisis with 94 executive actions in his first 100 days.” she said.

“President Biden’s border crisis is shameful. It’s despicable. And it’s almost entirely preventable,” he said, referring to Riley. “President Biden has finally spoken her name but refuses to hold her accountable for her own actions…But enough is enough.”
Britt said Biden’s failures “didn’t stop” at the border, pointing to rising costs and the economy and arguing that “Americans are wearing out.”
“Hardworking families are struggling to make ends meet today. And with rising mortgage rates and rising child care costs, it’s hard to plan for tomorrow. The president says Bidennomics is working. “The American people are hanging on while we proudly proclaim! Bless the President! Heart. We know better,” she said.
Britt then criticized Democrats’ crime policies and calls by progressives to defund the police, before bristling at Biden’s description of “us as a punchline to the world state.” He cited increasing turmoil around the world.

We have become a backwards nation. And the enemies of freedom see an opportunity. “There is,” she said.
“Currently, our nation’s commander-in-chief is not in command. The free world deserves better than a shaky and diminished leader. America deserves secure borders, stable prices, safe streets, and a strong defense. “A nation deserves a leader who recognizes that it is the foundation of a great nation,” she added.

Britt concluded by arguing that while the country is at a “crossroads,” it doesn’t have to be.
“Everyone is feeling it. But here’s the good news: We the people are still in the driver’s seat. It’s up to us to decide whether our future will be brighter or whether we will settle for a declining America.” ,” she said. “Well, I know what choices our kids deserve, and I know what choices the Republicans are fighting for.”
