A National Guard helicopter carrying three soldiers and a Border Patrol agent crashed near the southern Texas border, killing multiple people, authorities said.

The helicopter crashed in La Grulla, a border town near the Rio Grande in Starr County.

Thousands of National Guard members have not received promised enlistment bonuses

Law enforcement officials told Fox News that the three National Guard members were working on a federal order on behalf of the Department of Homeland Security.

The helicopter is a New York National Guard Lakota.
