Bolton ‘perplexed’ about reports of Trump receiving intelligence briefings if GOP nominee

Former national security adviser John Bolton said he was “perplexed” by reports that former President Donald Trump would receive an informational briefing if he became the Republican presidential nominee.

Bolton: “President Biden apparently agreed to be interviewed, so I’m a little perplexed myself.” Said In an interview with MSNBC’s Katie Toole.

His comments come after multiple news outlets reported on Thursday that intelligence agencies were preparing to share information with him as he is likely to become the Republican nominee for the White House. It was issued. As NBC News reportthe press conference will take place despite President Trump’s history of problems with classified documents.

“I don’t think it makes sense,” Bolton said. “And I actually think everything he said is at risk of being exposed.”

It is customary for candidates from major parties to participate in information conferences after securing their party’s nomination, which could ease their transition to the White House if they win the presidential election.

President Trump currently faces 40 charges for mishandling classified records and attempting to prevent the government from retrieving them after leaving the White House. The files allegedly contained national defense and weapons information, some of which was marked top secret.

President Biden is also suspected of having kept documents from his time as vice president.

A special counsel report released in February determined that the president “intentionally” kept classified documents, but did not bring charges. Instead, it portrayed Biden as an “old man with a bad memory.”

In response to this report, President Trump insisted that his lawsuit be dismissed.
