A California food truck owner was hospitalized after confronting a thief who allegedly assaulted and robbed an elderly woman, according to FOX 11 LA.
Brian Tekun, owner of Brian’s Billieria food truck in Long Beach, California, was driving home when he witnessed a woman being robbed and assaulted. The outlet reported.
Acting on instinct, the good Samaritan jumped out of the car and ran to help the elderly woman.

Authorities said the suspect chased her to a nearby park and tackled her. Police told FOX 11 Tekun was stabbed once in his ribcage and once between his neck and shoulder during the collision.
Tekun said he initially denied the need for treatment, but then began to feel dizzy.

“Police arrived and asked me to stay so they could get medical treatment, but I didn’t think it was that serious,” he told FOX 11. “I started sweating profusely and felt dizzy while driving.”

Although he suffered serious injuries and was hospitalized with a collapsed lung and internal bleeding, Tecum is expected to make a full recovery.

“I would never want something like that to happen to any of my relatives or my mother. I hope someone will intervene,” he said.
