Former President Donald Trump weighed in on the abortion debate, a politically touchy topic for Republicans.

Trump reportedly discussed banning abortions after 16 weeks of pregnancy, with three exceptions: rape, incest, and mother’s life.

“Soon, I’m going to make a decision. And I’d like to see if I can do it. I’d like to see if I can satisfy both sides,” Trump said on “Media Buzz” on Sunday.

Revealing how pro-life voters really feel about President Trump’s position on abortion

Trump has been a vocal pro-life advocate throughout his presidential term. caused a backlash After telling MSNBC in September that Gov. Ron DeSantis’ six-week abortion ban was “a terrible thing, a terrible mistake.”

Although he has not formally endorsed abortion, his stance on the issue signals a shift in attitude and strategy within the Republican Party.

It hurt a lot of Republicans,” Trump told host Howard Kurtz. “But I tell people, first of all, you have to follow your heart, you have to follow your heart. Kamala Harris torn between pro-life supporters on historic trip to abortion clinic: ‘normalization of evil’

Abortion access has once again become a top issue for Democrats since Roe v. Wade was overturned, with President Biden and Vice President Harris focusing much of their 2024 platforms on abortion.

Harris became the first sitting vice president to visit an abortion facility after touring a Minnesota Planned Parenthood clinic on Thursday. She said the visit to the clinic was also intended to draw attention to women who travel to Minnesota from other states to obtain abortions.

President Biden also made abortion and reproductive rights a cornerstone of his 2024 State of the Union address.

As Democrats gain support, President Trump criticized the party’s “radical” stance and urged Republicans to be more at ease on the issue heading into November.

“Democrats are radical on this issue because abortion is OK at seven, eight, nine months, even after birth,” Trump said.
