Three of the teams that will start at the top of the table will be hoping to bounce back from their pre-season run. North Carolina State entered the 2022-2023 season as the preseason No. 1 seed, but did not qualify for the tournament. Purdue became the second No. 1 seed to lose in its first game, and Houston failed to reach the Sweet Sixteen despite being the top overall seed.
Next is Connecticut. The Huskies hope to become the second team to repeat as champions since the 2006-2007 Florida Gators accomplished that feat.
