“We are arranging charter flights from Cap-Haitien to the United States for U.S. citizens with valid U.S. passports. Travel to Cap-Haitien is at your own risk,” the State Department’s X account posted.

Added to security alert Posted The airline said on its website that flights depend on the stability of the security situation in Cap-Haitien.
The overland journey from Port-au-Prince to Cap-Haitien is dangerous. We recommend that you only consider flying to Cap-Haitien if you are confident that you will arrive safely at Cap-Haitien Airport. We cannot offer overland travel to Cap-Haitien from other parts of Haiti. We are continuing to evaluate options to depart from Port-au-Prince and will notify you as soon as it is safe and secure to arrange this.
He further added:
The security situation in Haiti is unpredictable and dangerous. Travel within Haiti is at your own risk. The U.S. government cannot guarantee your safety at airports, at borders, or during subsequent travel. You should consider your own safety situation before traveling within Haiti. Travel to or from Haiti only if you feel it is safe to do so.
It is unclear how many flights will be operated.
The alert added that U.S. citizens who choose to depart on “U.S. government-coordinated flights” must sign a promissory note agreeing to reimburse the government for the flight.

The State Department said Thursday it did not know how many Americans were in Haiti.
State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said:
I have no idea how many Americans are on the ground in Haiti. That’s always difficult information – it’s always difficult information for the State Department to get the exact numbers. Because when most Americans travel to certain countries, and certainly in countries like Haiti, where there are close ties and people who go back and forth, they do. They don’t register with the US, they don’t register with our embassies to let us know they’re there. Therefore, it is impossible for us to know for sure.
He said at least several hundred Americans have signed up to receive the information, but said this is not a total number that indicates how many Americans are in the country.
Miller also said there are no plans for evacuation. It is unclear whether the chartered flight falls under the category of “evacuation.”

he said Thursday.
We always plan for all kinds of contingencies. But no, we haven’t planned anything. We are not actively planning an evacuation. And just to remind you and others, Haiti has been a Level 4 country in terms of travel advisories since 2020. So what this means is that we’ve been telling Americans not to go to Haiti for four years. Please do not travel there. It’s not safe. And those who are there, please leave as soon as possible without putting yourself at risk.
Saturday’s alert also advises Americans not to travel to Haiti and, if they are already in the country, to visit areas where local media are reporting crowds, violence, demonstrations, and disorder. I warned you to avoid it.

“Please keep a low profile,” he added. “Be aware of your surroundings. Be prepared to evacuate in place for a long period of time. Avoid going outdoors after dark. Be careful in areas visited by many foreign tourists. Please review your personal security plan. Make sure your travel documents are up to date and easily accessible. Carry appropriate identification.”
Miller said the State Department is providing $33 million in humanitarian aid to Haiti, and another $300 million for a police force known as the Multinational Security Assistance Mission that Kenya will launch in the coming “days and weeks.” said that it would provide. He said some of that funding will be provided for equipment relocation, logistics and direct financial support. He said $200 million would come from the Department of Defense and $100 million from the State Department.
The Pentagon told Breitbart News on Thursday that U.S. troops will not join police forces.
