A candidate backed by Donald Trump has widened his lead to win the Republican nomination for the Ohio Senate, according to the latest polls.

Businessman Bernie Moreno maintains 9-point lead in Ohio Republican Senate primary race emerson college The poll was released the day before Tuesday’s election.
Moreno’s approval rating is 38 percent, according to polls conducted Sunday and Monday, ahead of current state Sen. Matt Dolan (R-Ohio), who has 29 percent support.
The latest poll also showed that support for Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose was just 12%, the sharpest decline since January, when he previously stood at 21%.
Meanwhile, Moreno’s approval rating has increased significantly since the beginning of this month, increasing by 15 points.

But even though they haven’t decided on a candidate yet, 51% of undecided Republican voters lean toward Dolan when asked who they lean toward.
“Moreno’s lead over Dolan is 38% to 29%, but 21% of undecided voters support Dolan, and turnout is 44% to 40,” said Spencer, director of the Emerson College polling office. “It’s close to within the margin of error.” Kimball said in a statement about the poll.
Additionally, the race continues to grow tense as Republican candidates for the Senate seek to capture the Republican nomination, aiming to unseat Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio).
Polls earlier this month showed Brown leading all three candidates in a hypothetical 2024 Senate showdown.
Voters will head to the polls on Tuesday to choose the Republican candidate to nominate Brown for the Senate seat.
