Pollster Frank Luntz warned New York Attorney General Letitia James that if she forcibly seizes the former president’s assets, she will “elect Donald Trump.”
Mr. James, a Democrat who campaigned on a promise to go after Mr. Trump, filed an unprecedented civil fraud lawsuit against the former commander-in-chief, resulting in him being sued for more than $450 million. He had to pay fines and interest. Mr. Trump must repay by Monday or Mr. James said he would begin seizing his assets.
During a CNN panel on Thursday, Luntz predicted that James’ attacks on Trump would ultimately backfire on Democrats.
