Kamala Harris Says ‘Consequences’ Possible if Israel Raids Rafah; ‘I Have Studied the Maps’

Vice President Kamala Harris said Sunday that the administration has not ruled out “consequences” for Israel if it rebels against President Joe Biden and attacks Hamas in the southern Gaza city of Rafah.

Biden publicly warned Israel not to attack Hamas, which has a large civilian presence in Rafah and is used by the terrorist group as a human shield. Israel insists it cannot win the war without defeating the last four Hamas battalions in Rafah.

Harris’s talked He told ABC News on Sunday that he had “studyed maps” of southern Gaza.

In a wide-ranging new interview with ABC News, Vice President Kamala Harris suggested there could be “consequences” for Israel if it did. Proceed with the plan to invade Rafah Tracking down Hamas fighters.

[Senior congressional correspondent Rachel] Mr. Scott followed up with, “Are you ruling out the possibility of influence from the United States?”

“I’m not ruling anything out,” Harris replied.

Israel says it can move civilians into areas near Rafah during the fighting.

On Friday, after a meeting with visiting US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reiterated that Israel intends to enter Rafah. He said he hopes to do it with U.S. support, but added that he “will do it alone if necessary.”

Critics claim the Biden administration is exploiting Hamas’ strategy by preventing Israel from destroying it.
