Biden Funds Border Security in Foreign Countries, Keeps U.S. Border Open

President Joe Biden, with help from Congress, is spending hundreds of millions of U.S. taxpayer dollars on foreign border security efforts. At the same time, more than 7.4 million people have crossed the U.S.-Mexico border since President Biden took office.

It fell to $1.2 trillion. budget The deal Biden signed last weekend includes about $380 million for “border security” projects in Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Oman and Tunisia, including about $150 million in Jordan. The money will be used for border security.

Meanwhile, the budget imposes severe limits on the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) ability to erect physical barriers along the U.S.-Mexico border to deter illegal immigration.

The budget comes as Biden sets more records at the border.

From February 2021 to February 2024, Biden oversaw 9 million border encounters, more than 7.4 million of which occurred at the southern border. These numbers do not include the countless fugitives who have successfully crossed the U.S. border.

“…More than 1.8 million known fugitives have evaded U.S. Border Patrol under this administration,” said House Homeland Security Chairman Mark Green (R-Tenn.). write:

In testimony before the committee last year, then-U.S. Border Patrol Commissioner Raul Ortiz said: The total number of escapes may be underestimated by up to 20%. [Emphasis added]

In addition to record border crossings, Biden’s Department of Homeland Security is implementing an unprecedented parole pipeline to bring foreign nationals to the U.S. border and release them inland.

Since January 2023, nearly 900,000 aliens have been released into the interior of the United States thanks to a parole pipeline that includes the immigration mobile app known as “CBP One” and so-called “humanitarian parole.”

The total number of immigrants arriving through the parole pipeline now exceeds the populations of Wyoming, Vermont, Alaska, and North Dakota.
