A man accused of a horrific home invasion and brutal rape of two elderly sisters has also been charged in connection with the rape of a 13-year-old girl. according to To the prosecutor.
“He’s a monster. There’s no other way to describe it. An evil monster,” said a woman who has known Michael Sean Holcomb, 52, for years, but did not want to give her name.
Police say Holcomb brutally raped and assaulted the sisters on March 17 at their home in Dearborn, Michigan. The two sisters ran out of the house without any clothes on, and one ran to a neighbor’s house and called 911.
The man was arrested at the motel after police collected evidence and interviewed two victims, one in his 80s and the other in his 70s.
Dearborn Police Chief Issa Shahin called the crime “shocking and horrifying.”
“It’s really heartbreaking.”
Police said Holcomb was charged with another horrific sexual assault earlier in the day at the home of a relative. He is accused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl who was visiting his Allen Park home despite his relatives knowing of Holcomb’s criminal history.
Investigators say a 7-year-old girl who was in the home woke up and witnessed the assault, then helped a 13-year-old boy escape and ran to a neighbor’s house for help.
A woman who knows Holcomb said she knows the families of Holcomb’s victims and is upset that Holcomb allowed her to see their children despite knowing of his recent criminal history.
“It’s really heartbreaking,” she said. told WXYZ-TV.. “There’s really no other way to describe it. It’s just heartbreaking. It’s just terrible.”
Police believe Holcomb traveled to Dearborn and assaulted the elderly sisters just two hours later.
He faces numerous charges, including six counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and six counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct.
“He destroys everyone around him.”
Allen Park Police Chief Christopher Egan said Holcomb likely would have committed more crimes if he had not been arrested.
“Don’t put vulnerable people in situations where something like this can happen. At the end of the day, it’s about doing the right thing and not allowing the wrong thing to happen,” Egan added.
Holcomb was charged in 2010 with first- and second-degree criminal sexual assault of a child, but he pleaded guilty to lesser charges and served eight years in prison. He was paroled in 2018 and released on parole two years later.
He is being held without bail and is scheduled to appear in court in April.
“This man terrorized my life and the lives of so many others,” said a woman who knew Holcomb. “He destroys everyone around him.”
