After several tense moments, with no one emerging from any of the vehicles, other vehicles stopped and people, including a passenger in the white SUV involved in the crash, rushed to help.

Within seconds, eight do-gooders lined up next to the overturned SUV, together grabbed the sides of the roof and began rocking it back and forth.

“It was a little surreal. It happened so fast,” said Amy Ridgeley, one of those who took part in the impromptu rescue. he told Fox 35.

Ridgeley, an Iraq veteran, said he didn’t hesitate when he saw the SUV stuck on its side with a person inside.

“As a veteran, I took an oath to protect and protect. Two of the Army values ​​we stand for are personal courage and selfless service. I have the opportunity to help those in need. So I had to go,” Ridgeley said.

Officials said the 31-year-old driver of the overturned gray car was later questioned on suspicion of running a red light.
