Steelers’ Art Rooney II dismisses poor NFLPA report card results, labels survey as ‘media opportunity’

The NFL Players Association has released the second edition of its team report card. The report anonymously asks players around the league to comment on specific teams’ working conditions.

Everything from the weight room to the locker room to the treatment of players’ families on game day is included in the investigation. This includes feedback from his 1,706 players across the league, which equates to a response rate of over 77% for him, a significant increase from his 60% last year.

In a memo posted on the association’s website earlier this month, NFLPA President J.C. Tretter said the purpose of the survey was to not only highlight each club’s strengths, but also identify areas for improvement and encourage membership He explained that it was about educating. Some teams and owners choose to use the report to identify areas that need to be addressed, while others take a more negative approach.

Last season, the locker room received a C grade, but the family treatment category received a D- grade. The respondent was more satisfied with her travel conditions last year, and she received a B rating in this category.
