A couple discovered a secret room in the house they lived in years ago, sparking social media and several theories about how the previous occupants used the space.
TikTok user Aurora Blazingstar captured the moment her husband pushed aside part of the wall, revealing a metal door and a small room within the wall.
“Oh my god, I’ve never seen anything like this in my house and I’ve lived here for four years.” Blazing Star said this in the video he posted. Early this month.
This secret room was discovered when the couple was tearing out the carpet in the basement, but all they discovered was a “sliding drywall pocket door.”
When the former homeowner and builder built the room, the couple suggested several uses, including a bomb shelter, panic room and gun safe.
The long, narrow room contained a working light switch and light bulb, several wires hanging from the wall, a drain, four mats, and a “rusty” patch on the floor.
Concerned about suspicious spots on the ground, Blazing Star called police and suggested they bring in a dog to investigate.
“Should we bring in the dog’s body?” the forensic nurse asked. “No, they probably keep a gun safe here.”
The Blazing star’s husband, a doctor, stood in the doorway throughout the video and gave his own theory about what the room was like.
“I think this was meant to be some kind of panic room.”
Local police were eventually called to the house to investigate the mysterious room, but no evidence of a crime was found, Blazing Star said in a subsequent video.
Once out of the enclosed space, the couple came up with ideas to utilize their newfound extra space.
“If your mom wants to stay, this will be your guest room,” Blazing Star’s husband said.
The original video posted on March 22 has been viewed more than 1.3 million times.
The homeowners claim they recently discovered the room because the sliding wall was behind a large bookshelf, and the only thing out of place is the missing drywall at the base of the wall.
The creepy basement room wasn’t the only thing built inside the house.
Blazing Star shared that another room is located on the upper floor and is used as a children’s play area. Found behind a mirror on the wall.
“They didn’t see any signs of a crime, they didn’t investigate anything, they didn’t see anything like DNA evidence that needed to be collected, but how the room was hidden, And they were really impressed that it was really cool.”

Despite all the evidence Blazingstar provided in the room, many social media users still posted their opinions and theories about the room being previously used.
